Cloverkey Adds Fifth CommonSpirit Location

First California Gift Shop Opening at Dignity Health Memorial Hospital Bakersfield

Carrollton, TX – Cloverkey, a hospital gift shop management partner, has expanded its partnership base within the CommonSpirit Health system with a new contract executed at Dignity Health Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, California.

“We’re excited to continue to grow our CommonSpirit relationship through this partnership with Memorial Hospital,” Gwynne Gillette, Cloverkey Chief Marketing Officer said. “And expanding into California is a natural next step after our two most recent gift shop openings with Dignity Health in Phoenix, Arizona.”

CommonSpirit Health is a national healthcare organization with 140 hospitals and more than 1,000 care sites across 21 states. Based in Chicago, CommonSpirit is a mission-driven organization whose vision is “A healthier future for all – inspired by faith, driven by innovation and powered by our humanity.” Dignity Health is a CommonSpirit subsystem consisting of 39 hospitals, both Catholic and non-Catholic, and strongly identified with their iconic “Hello humankindness” tagline.

“Hello humankindness” will be on full display in the new gift shop,” Kim Schuler, Cloverkey Chief Revenue Officer, said. “And not just through the way we conduct our business and treat our customers. You’ll find the signature phrase in our graphics elements as well as our logo merchandise assortment.”

Erin Britton, Director of Visual Merchandising, said “As in all our other CommonSpirit locations, the hospital team has been amazing.” She continued, “Thanks to their onsite support, the gift shop will be completely refreshed – unrecognizable from its pre-Covid days, which is the last time it was open.”

Part of Cloverkey’s service includes going to the hospital community directly with surveys to solicit ideas from the campus population about what is most important to them in a gift shop so this can be crafted into the final store set-up. “It is important to us to make sure hospital employees feel heard as we put a new gift shop together because they are such an important constituent,” Ms. Schuler said. “And we’ll look forward to incorporating their feedback when the gift shop re-opens in September,” she continued.
